Product design: From idea to product to recycling.
The path from the initial idea to the finished product follows a structured design process. It all starts with a basic idea, the starting point for the future product.
The initial idea is further developed through abstraction in order to highlight the essential functions and forms and reduce unnecessary details. The next step is to select colors and define materials. Here, both the aesthetic effect and decisive factors such as functionality, durability, and manufacturability are taken into account.
This forms the basis for a precise CAD 3D model in which the product is designed and technically defined. Renderings are used to visualize the design realistically in order to check proportions, surfaces, and colors. At the same time, initial ideas about recycling are integrated in order to anchor sustainability early on in the development process.
The product is then manufactured as a prototype using 3D printing. This prototype enables testing in real-world applications, revealing strengths and weaknesses. The insights gained are incorporated into an iteration in which the design is specifically optimized.

After the final design has been finalized, a precise product description is created that explains the function, benefits, and special features of the end product. Finally, suitable packaging is developed that protects and presents the product and, ideally, also takes sustainability aspects into account.
