For a while now, we’ve had a second studio alongside bb FORM:reell. There, we create minimalist apps and software for clients, built with AI, with the same approach we take with our 3D-printed objects.
Software that doesn't break up the day
We design things that bring more peace to everyday life. Until now, these have been objects—simple and functional. We now apply the same approach to software, though the medium is different.
The reason was frustration. Most apps want you to create an account, sign up for a subscription, and share your data before they’ll even do anything. They pop up when no one asked them to and chop your day up into little pieces. This isn’t technology that enhances human thinking—it’s technology that interrupts it.
We believe it should be the other way around. An app should be quiet. It shouldn't track anything. It should belong to you, rather than being rented on a monthly basis.
